JJK 259 spoilers: Choso’s sacrifice is the most heartbreaking thing after Gojo’s death

Choso uses blood manipulation

After Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 258 ended with a cliffhanger and Sukuna’s ‘Furnace’ and ‘Flames’ became the next big mystery, JJK 259 Spoilers brought a resolution to the theory after two weeks. But the chapter brings forth a typical pattern back into the cycle: Gege Akutami’s habit of killing a character under the least expected circumstances.

Not only do JJK 259 spoilers make it harder for the fans to read through it, but it also manages to complement death with an emotional rollercoaster of nostalgia. What makes the entire chapter so heartwrenching is the reality of a loss that was foreseeable yet we chose to reject that idea. This chapter has been unbelievably quick, and at the same time, the pacing reminds me somewhat of when Gojo died.

JJK 259 spoilers – a painful encounter with reality and a rollercoaster in parts

JJK 259 spoilers is primarily concerned with Choso’s death and the return of Aoi Todo. But this is not the only aspect of this nerve wrenching chapter. For readers who have been following the manga, this chapter would probably shatter their remaining belief in the story, making it hard to endure and overcome. The futility of life and the tragedy of death become the absolute clauses for mayhem and chaos.

Choso as a teacher is the preface to a heartbreak

JJK 259 spoilers begin with Yuji, Choso and Kamo gathered together. The latter two are attempting to teach Yuji their technique of Convergence. However, Choso discovers that he might not be a good teacher afterall and Kamo goes on to explain how Blood Manipulation and Convergence works.

Choso also wants to teach Yuji his Supernova but Kamo refutes this proposal by stating that Yuji’s primary need to learn Blood Manipulation is to keep himself from bleeding out during battle and to heal his wounds. Choso pouts and gets sad at this rejection (cute). At the same time, it is revealed that Yuji swapped with Yuta Okkotsu, giving him the advantage of Yuta’s CT.

Sukuna’s Kamino explained and unleashed in JJK 259 spoilers

  • The chapter then shifts to Sukuna’s Kamino, where it is stated that by merging Cleave and Dismantle he can open the door to this technique.
  • While it lacks the speed that is relative to the fire and has a limited range, Sukuna resolved it by imposing a binding vow upon himself.
  • The Kamino is basically Sukuna’s ultimate technique that resulted in the fall of Mahoraga in a single strike and its heat results in a decompression and high pressure environment that slaughters every living being in its radius.

While Sukuna had to seal this technique during his fight with Gojo for obvious reasons, he unleashes these at Yuji. At this moment, in the hour of fire engulfed in a blinding light, Choso steps in and sacrifices himself to save Yuji! He creates a blood barrier to save Yuji and falls to a miserable and painful death, becoming a martyr in this battle of doom.

Yuji screams and shouts and howls in agony, while Choso reassures him by saying that he is the type who takes actions based on instinct. He says he is sorry for not being a good trainer and further adds that he is proud of his little brother Yuji who has surpassed his elder brother. Choso apologizes for leaving Yuji alone in this world and Yuji thanks him for being by his side throughout their journey.

The Death Painting Wombs reunite in a parallel time, while Yuji is left all alone

In a parallel world, the three brothers (Choso, Kechizu and Eso) reunite and a conversation takes place in JJK 259. Kechizu says that he feels cold, while Choso reassures him of his presence, asking him to engage in conversation and reminding him of their short run with Yuji.

Back to reality, Choso says, “Thank you Yuji, for becoming my brother“. Yuji replies, ” Thank you, Aniki…” This marked a final farewell for the two brothers. From being enemies to friends to siblings, Yuji and Choso covered one of the most beautiful journeys in Jujutsu Kaisen, and the latter’s departure and sacrifice is a painfully nostalgic reminder of that journey.

Yuji’s hopelessness in the battlefield and the return of Aoi Todo in JJK 259

Yuji stands hopeless and helpless after the fire subsides and he witnesses a scorched earth and a towering Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259. He whimpers, “Guys…Someone…” and eventually accepts his fate a cog in the machine. He believes that his role needs to be fulfilled but it will always remain insignificant.

The earth burning in misery and his brother’s ashes scattered in the air, Yuji finds himself breaking away from his resolve as his foundations are shaken to the core. He fails to find the courage to stand up and face Sukuna and avenge his brother’s death. In that moment, Sukuna advances to strike Yuji and finish him in his weakest state.

But just then, Aoi Todo steps into the battlefield and comes to his brother’s rescue. In a flashback in time, the manga elaborates on Todo and Mei Mei’s plan to rescue people from Sukuna’s domain. Todo also refrains from sharing the details of their plan with Yuji, as he fears that Sukuna holds the ability to listen to the thoughts of his former host.

The narrator elaborates on Todo’s handicapped state and his uncertainty of a tactical strategy. However, Todo reassures Yuji that the other sorcerers are safe and that injects courage and hope into Yuji’s soul. Both brothers rush towards Sukuna, the weakened demon is in a vulnerable state as he won’t be able to use his CT right after his Domain Expansion. The chapter ends, with a hope that all deaths shall be avenged by the two brothers in the battlefield.

Choso’s death in JJK 259 spoilers – an unnecessary event or a necessary sacrifice?

Choso’s death in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 was the most unnecessary plot twist I have ever witnessed. Being objective in this situation is completely out of question, as emotions have been pouring from a personal standpoint and I feel that the story could’ve been the same without Choso’s death. It would’ve made absolutely no difference if he survived and maybe wouldn’t have resulted in such heartache.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 spoilers is one of the most unpredictable chapters in the JJK manga and at this point it feels like Gege Akutami is toying with characters and our emotions. But on a professional note, if we look at the event from the perspective of storytelling, it did act as an efficient tool to evoke emotions. A death is always seen as a loss, however, a death of a character that is built within the story and one that develops a place in the narrative is felt as an encounter with an incomprehensible void.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 spoilers have proven to be the most devastating encounter in the recent times. It is meant to light up an absolute emotional turmoil. But, it will be interesting to see how Todo and Yuji in JJK 259 manage to tackle Sukuna. While that battle is for JJK 260, a premise will be hopefully be dropping soon!
